Step 1: Open up your Blackboard Course, click on the purple plus button, and the click content
Step 2: Click on Document through the Course Content Items menu
Step 3: Once in the Document Click on the Content Button. It will Open up a text box where you can do a lot of things.
Step 4: You can change the size, and color of the text as well as change the position, add a table, or even add lists
Step 5: You can add links and images into your document by clicking on the link icon on the left. Add images to the document with the painting icon.
Step 6: Once the painting icon is clicked, a dropdown menu will will appear. You can select a stock image from Unsplash, generate an ai image with the Generate images tool. The last way is by downloading an image to your device and then selecting it from your files with the upload from device option, or you can drag and drop the file to upload it.
Step 7: Give the image a title and be sure to add alternative text that describes the image for people using a screenreader. If you're adding an image that is purly decorative you can click on "Mark image as decoration"
Step 8: You can add videos to your documents via the HTML button. You can add any You-tube video this way.
Step 9: Go to You-tube and find the video you want. Once selected click on the share button to the bottom right of the video.
Step 11: Copy the code that pops up
Step 10: Select the Embed option once this menu pops up.
Step 12: Go back to Blackboard click on the embed tool and then paste the code you've copied into the embed text box.
Step 13: Click outside of the text box and the video will load.
Step 14: If you already have a document you want to upload, click on the file upload button and select your desired document
Step 15: Click the save button and the file will be uploaded to the document.
Step 16: Once you are happy with the layout of your document, make sure to click the save button and make it visible to students.
