Think of it like a Blackboard course, but for clubs, teams, and groups. You can:
Share announcements and files
Host discussions and plan events
Keep everyone in your group connected in one easy place
Faculty, staff, and students can request a new Organization for their club or group. Students will need a faculty or staff sponsor to help you get started.
In Blackboard’s global navigation menu, the “Organizations” tab is located directly beneath “Courses.” While organizations function just like courses in terms of layout and navigation, they are used for non-instructional purposes – such as programs, committees, and campus groups.
This separation helps keep academic courses streamlined by giving co-curricular and administrative content its own dedicated space. It also improves visibility and organization, making it easier for users to find and engage with non-course materials without cluttering their main course list.
Additionally, the role names will be updated as follows for Organizations:
Instructor → Leader
Course Builder → Organization Builder
Teaching Assistant → Student Leader
Student → Participant
